the best fashion advice I've ever received came from the most unlikely person:
the husband.
he asked me-
why did i let people that i didn't know
and would probably have very little respect for (designers),
dictate what i wore.
ummm, i didn't know.
point well taken.
since then i haven't paid much attention to what is in style.
i do like maxi skirts, but they are just too long.
i couldn't do the let it drag the ground look.
so i made my own version.
i do like the way it turned out-

Love that maxi skirt! The color is great, the length is perfect, and you look awesome :) I also LOVE your son's plaid romper - one of my all-time favorite boy outfits!
Ok, I have to say that I love, LOVE your husband's advice. I feel the same way, honestly. I think in the end, we all look better when we wear what we like...and feel good in!
That skirt is amazing. Care to share how you did that? (Stopping over from FLAP...so nice to "meet" you!)
love, love, love your outfit. The blue maxi skirt is beautiful and looks great with the crisp white look on top!
Beautiful outfit! And you look great with your hair up like that.
@Rosie
thank you.
and yes, little boys in plaid anything!
@Cynthia
i am the last person you should ask about sewing - i just wing it. grab a favorite skirt, about 2 yards of fabric and a washable marker:)
My parents are always telling me that as well--but luckily I really like the styles that are popular right now :D
Love the bright skirt, especially with the tie around the waist. It's such a lovely touch!
I love your outfit! The white and teal look so crisp and fresh. All of my boys had plaid rompers like your little guy. So cute!
You made it? Impressed! The best I can do is sew a button on ha! And yes, I wear what I like, not what a magazine tells me I should like. But I have to admit, I sure do like alot that's out right now ha!
You look great! Way to make the style your own :)
love the skirt- so beautiful!
I love that skirt, and I so wish that I had your sewing skills.
So beautiful, Courtney! The color, the length, the tie, everything! I cannot imagine "winging it" and coming up with something so lovely!
